Ok, let's face it: renderers are butt ugly.

All that string concatination with formatting info mixed in! Bleah!!!!!!

So, aside from CSSing what we can, I was thinking we might adopt some 
sort of JSP like kit. But I was thinking about it and it wasn't all 
that clear that the code would be any cleaner. Thoughts anyone?
